SPECIALISING IN RESIDENTIAL CARE IN NOTTINGHAM

GUIDANCE FOR VISITORS

Please see below our guidance for visitors so that you can have a safe, and enjoyable visit with your loved one in comfortable location.

Prior to your visit, the below measures will be put in place to ensure your safety and that of others.

OUTDOOR VISITING

Prior to visiting the home, please be mindful of the following measures.

  1. If you want to take your relative out for a specific time, it would be beneficial if you let us know what time so that we can ensure that they are ready to go for you.
  2. Please ensure that you do not get the wheelchair muddy as it makes our foyer and floors dirty.
  3. If the weather is poor, an inside visit can be facilitated.

INDOOR VISITS

In this situation, the resident will be in his/her own room.

  1. Visits no longer need to be booked in advance. Please ensure that you still arrive within our visiting hours.
  2. Visits can take place between 10.30 – 12.00, 13.30 – 18.55, daily
  3. Please be aware that between 16.00 and 17.30 on Saturday and Sunday that staff may not be able to open the doors straight away due to managing Tea time and Medication. It is advisable that you ring your relatives nurse call and a member of staff will come to the room and escort you out.
  4. If a resident tests positive for Covid then visitors must wear full PPE at all times during the visit, remove on exiting the room including mask and apply a fresh one when leaving the building.
  5. There are no set numbers of visitors per resident, but please be aware, visits will continue to occur in the residents bedroom for privacy and can only accommodate so many people at one time.
  6. On entry to the home visitors will be offered PPE. Type II surgical masks no longer need to be worn unless the visitor feels unwell or would like to wear a mask.
  7. Visitors are encouraged to wash their hands or use alcohol gel prior to visiting.
  8. Please remain in the resident’s room, if you need anything during your visit, please use our buzzer system and a member of staff will come and assist you.
  9. Dogs are able to visit in the home providing they are kept on a lead at all times in the resident, they are visiting’s bedroom.

END OF LIFE VISITING

We fully appreciate how important visiting is during the final days of your loved ones. The following procedures will be put in place if your resident becomes end of life.

  1. There is no maximum number of visitors allowed to visit the resident but only 2 or 3 visitors by their bedside at any one time this is due to space in the room and ability for staff to attend to your loved one when needed.
  2. PPE must still be worn if the resident has tested positive for Covid
  3. Please remain in the resident’s room, if you need anything during your visit, please use our buzzer system and a member of staff will come and assist you.
  4. During an Outbreak there will be no restrictions on end of life visits.

We hope you found the above guidance helpful, if you have any further questions around our guidance for visitors please contact the Home Manager.
